Star Wars Jedi Survivor: Review

Two weeks after its release, we have been able to test the new Star Wars saga videogame, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.

This videogame has received great reviews and praise, from Play the Game we are going to comment on its strongest and weakest points. Undoubtedly, it is a great game, but from the agency we believe that this game has to be compared with some of its level and that is the reason for this review.

Although it is a great improvement from the first release, the game has some errors focused on the action moments that we will comment on later on. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is set 5 years after Fallen Order, and invites us to continue battling between the dark side of the force and the side of the Jedi with its protagonist Cal Kestis.

The video game is almost an open world, and within it we have 7 different worlds, 2 of which stand out for their large size. This space gives what it promises, large spaces with lots of hiding places, games, main and secondary missions, villains of all kinds... and also with an important detail when going through them: fast transport options to save time.

Some reviews say that the worlds, due to their textures, are reminiscent of Legend of Zelda. We personally think that the high level graphics, together with the designs, music and effects are definitely reminiscent of the Lucas Film series. The game has decided to change details that we were used to like the minimaps, the compasses and even the experience points or the levels of the character or the weapons. From the missions the rewards you receive are only aesthetic outfits and this is something criticised by the players. Although the puzzles are amazing and very well designed, having to fight and explore to finally receive an accessory that may not be to your liking is not entirely satisfying.

The main story of the game becomes more interesting as you advance in time, being the last third the most intriguing and exciting. The evolution of the levels we liked, as it forces you to return to previous worlds to investigate what you had left behind.

Finally we must say that the game is not polished in the moments of more action, the battles are sometimes clumsy due to its lack of precision along with various visual bugs or frame drops. However, the battles with the final bosses are the opposite and let you see what these developers are capable of, entertaining, beautiful and very successful.

In conclusion we can say that if we personally liked this game, it has been fun to play it and discover many of its corners. Despite the various flaws that can be found, it is incredible the amount of different activities and details that you can find, from searching for bounty hunters to a garden on the roof of a store where you can plant yourself!
